Porch Swing Accounting
A laid-back approach with serious solutions

A few words about the firm

Porch Swing Accounting was founded in 2025 with the goal of providing tailored outsourced accounting services for small businesses across various industries. There are few one-size-fits-all solutions in business; that’s why each of our engagements is built around the client(s) and their needs.  We understand that the numbers can be confusing - but they don’t have to be!  We work to contextualize your financials so they seem less foreign and more like the critical dataset they are for your business’s growth.

Cody Asche, owner, has ten years of experience in public accounting ranging from individual tax planning and preparation to non-profit financial reporting and audit engagements.  For the last several years, Cody has specialized in joint-venture accounting, specifically for the oil and natural gas industry. As a manager at an outsourcing firm, Cody oversaw the operational and financial accounting for more than 50 concurrent clients with assets across the US.  In his position, Cody was responsible for driving all accounting functions, such as joint interest billings and distributions, payables processing, receivables tracking, and financial reporting in addition to playing a key role in the financial projection and budgeting process.  He led a team of 10 accountants who were handling, at one time, more than $70 million in revenue distributions and more than $20 million in drilling, completion, and operating costs each month.  Cody was also the conduit for financial statement and joint venture audits.  He oversaw the implementation and documentation of accounting processes to satisfy reporting and audit requirements, and maintained communications with client auditors and tax accountants to facilitate their work for mutual clients.  Cody’s introduction to a variety of management styles and accounting methodologies lends to his flexible, client-centric approach.

Throughout his relatively short career, Cody has played critical roles in all aspects of the accounting process; from bookkeeping, payroll, and monthly accounting engagements to annual compilations, reviews, audits and tax preparation.  At an Oklahoma City-based exploration and production company, he played roles in revenue, regulatory reporting, JIB, AP, AR, and treasury prior to leading a few of those departments.  Cody has helped a client navigate bankruptcy proceedings and the additional accounting requirements the process presents, and he led a forensic accounting engagement leading to an embezzlement charge for another client.

Cody holds a Master of Professional Accounting from Colorado State University-Global, and a bachelor degree in Agricultural Economics and Accounting from Oklahoma State University.  He is a licensed CPA in the state of Oklahoma.
